As part of the 16 Days of Activism, the United Nations Population Fund is launching an initiative to combat gender-based violence by highlighting the skills and talents that any young Burundian can contribute to this fight. The initiative is called ‘My Talent, My Weapon against gender-based violence’. In collaboration with United Nations agencies and partners, UNFPA is taking the lead in this initiative to organise the first edition of ‘My Talent, My Weapon against gender-based violence’ through a competition and recreational activities that will showcase the talents of Burundian youth in four skill categories: Music/Singing, Visual Arts (drawing, painting, sculpture), Theatre and Slam.​

Pilot phase of the shared medical sample transport system project​

As part of the implementation of option 3 of the pilot phase of the shared system for transporting medical samples from the health districts of Mukenke in Kirundo and Rumonge to health facilities (FOSA) and laboratories, the company IRK Group was recruited to provide transport services. Under the supervision of the project coordinator (sample transport pilot phase) and the PSM expert from the FM-UNDP PMU, the various responsibilities have been assigned to the private structure that has been selected to provide transport services for the implementation of this project.
